Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi Everyone

Today I took a walk outside.  Made it to the end of the street and back, to the mailbox and up and down my stairs.  So not bad.  As I walk I keep telling myself, "bend that knee, bend that knee."  LOL  One of my neighbors came out and kept an eye on me because she didn't like that I was walking on wet pavement.  We had more mist than rain and it wasn't misting when I was walking but she wanted to make sure I didn't slip.  Thought it was very sweet of her.  She's a young woman that works out a lot so she's been keeping an eye on how I'm moving and walking.  She even carried my mail up to my front door for me.  Yes, @bopper  - my DD has also been checking on me to see if I need anything.

I've been using grocery delivery and must say, it is pretty nice and may become a habit.  Kind of nice not going to the grocery store and have everything delivered.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Great news @JudyL -  on your walking efforts yesterday. I love breathing in some fresh air too when I walk... I bet it smelled good outside with the mist.

I walked in nature yesterday- not far from where I live and it's a pond area. So pretty and not crowded. We got up to 63 yesterday.. In Dec.!!!  Unusual and predicting a green Xmas-  Ok by me!

Today is my eldest son's bday. We are headed early to have bfast at his fav place. My DH is NOT a morning person.. Wish me luck getting him going! As you can tell , it's not a problem for me---- or my son!

Later hope to get outside - and then of course there's football.

I watched a little yesterday.. The better NFL teams are rising to the top now!

 Have a good Sun..

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Sunday!  Another no sun day here!!  My gf stopped for a minute and said the same thing, we need sun, feeling irritable with so much gloom.   It's 25 outside.

I did the vibration plate, some free weights and rebounder this morning.

@violet runner please keep those temps for when I get there!!

@JudyL it's good you have a neighbor who is looking out for you too.

Back to football Sunday!  Go Lions!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, well it's been another dreary day here.... I had a hair appointment, and really haven't done much today, and I'm okay with it.  In jammies already and watching a movie.   The big day is almost upon us.  Always a time for looking back, and looking ahead, feeling sad and feeling grateful all at the same time.  A mix of emotions for me, and I'm sure many of you can relate.  Not living in the past but yet afraid of the future.  People who understand us and then those who don't.  I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas, with good friends and family, and many blessings.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  - I understand how you feel.  Not in my usual holiday spirit this year.  Partly due to my knee surgery and other things going on.  Like you, I am concerned about the future too.  Think of Kate and Jack, Laura, Dr Kelli so often.  I treasure our little online group, esp these past few weeks post surgery.  Ya'll have supported me and helped me in so many ways and I'm grateful for all of you.  My wish for everyone is a happy holiday however you spend it and a healthy new year for all of us.

@bopper  and @JudyL - I agree with all you said..  A little melancholy about this Xmas too. But also grateful  at the same time.

I too love coming here and chatting and as @JudyL  mentioned , hope all our virtual friends here are all doing ok.

It is a time of reflection and also looking ahead.

Enjoy the holiday however you celebrate..

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

I just wanted to stop by and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I haven't worked out much lately. I had the stomach thing for a couple days, but it is all over and I am ready for the feast to begin!  I guess I will workout Friday or Saturday if I have any energy left from all the festivities.

Be well, my workout friends!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

 Merry Xmas everyone!

I am heading out very early ( dark) and meeting friends for a hike in area I haven't been in for a couple of years.. it's on a ranch in the mts .. Wish me luck-  I haven't done this type of hiking in a long time. Seeing the sunrise on Xmas Day and being in nature should be great!  Then I will come home and food prep for Xmas dinner this afternoon.

Enjoy the holiday whatever you do today!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Merry Christmas everyone!   The sun finally came out, It was a wonder to behold!!   We can't get the football games because we don't get Netflix.   I am a little under the weather so stayed here along today while hubby went to his families.   I kind of liked it though to be honest.  I cleaned up some of the clutter, and have been watching Hallmark.

I too cherish our group.  I hope while Im in CO I can log in but if I can't you know I will be back on January 12.

I did get to church yesterday so that was nice.  First Christmas Eve we were alone.  Hubby and I got in our jammies and just watched TV.

Back to more normal tomorrow

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

[ Edited ]

Hi Everyone.  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.  My day with DD and her boyfriend and his family was so nice and wouldn't trade a minute of it but am paying for it today.  Even though everyone took good care of me and wouldn't let me help in the kitchen, it was a long day and too much for my knee.  Was up all night with pain and uncomfortable even after taking pain meds.  So thankful that today it's raining and I'm not going anywhere.

It's been so cold and damp.  I don't so much mind the cold but when it's a damp cold, it feels harder to get or keep warm.  Today through Sunday we are expecting one storm after another so I won't be going out much.  Enjoyed the cooler but dry days leading up to Christmas because I made sure I got out and at least walked to the end of the street and back to get outside for a bit.  Won't be doing that for a few days.

@violet runner - Your Christmas Day hike sounds absolutely wonderful.

Have a good Thursday!
