Some vitamins are stored, not excreted when we take too much/many. Always check to find which are fat soluble. You don't want too much stored in your system. At least that's what we learned in Biology (or whatever) classes many years ago.

And some compete with each other so they should be taken at different times for that reason, too. There are lots of reasons like these that led to my decision to no longer take multi-vitamins.

Thank you everyone. I do appreciate every response, it helps me put things in perspective.

I did check the Linus Pauling Institute website...a lot of good information.

I keep track of which vitamins I take that are fat or water soluble.

I have checked a number of websites for the FDA recommended guidelines (that is when I started to double checking the amounts).

I do take my vitamins at different times as day.

Maybe it would be a good idea to take half of the recommend amount (AL) which my be better for me to keep the additional ingredients down.

I live on a mountain and the ladies....& gentleman on this forum are my company. I learn so much .... however I do not contribute much because I never think my opinions are important. Thank you all for taking the time to offer advice and knowledge.

The FDA recommended dosage and FDA safe upper limits are two entirely different things.

You looked at the RDA but not the safe upper kimits.

VaBelle35,

I just searched FDA upper limits for vitamins and WEBMD has great info with a chart. I will continue to search in this area. I will double check the "safe" upper limits in everything that I take. Thank you for pointing me in this direction.

Thank you!

Great! I didn't know WebMD had a chart. I lost the original chart I had a few years ago.

Thanks for finding that Smiley Very Happy
