Re: Under desk pedal exerciser

I bought the Quiibi JR..Even though I walk a lot at work, i think about the time i am at home in the ealry morning and evenings at the table, either  on the computer, or watching Baseball on TV..I wanted to use that time wisely and do something for my self- So  far I am enjoying it- and I would say, on the Highest sitting, you WILL work up a sweat!

Re: Under desk pedal exerciser

THe pedal exerciser did not have the proper angle for my knee.  I returned it.

Now looking for either a recumbent or upright bike.  Have an appointment today with the Ortho doc and will ask his opinion.

Also have an appointment tomorrow with PT for an eval.

Re: Under desk pedal exerciser

Hear you about having to find an exerciser to stay alive.

The Schwinn Arydyne helps your legs, abs and arms it can be as easy or as difficult as you want. It is not huge and very easy on surgeries and injuries.

To answer your question.......I walked 3 miles a day - up and down hills usually a 17 min mile.   I think that would constitute me being "fit".

Since the tear,  I have not been able to do this kind of walking.

I am asking if I will be able to work up a sweat on this little machine.

That's what I'm asking.

I too am trying to build the muscle around the tear.  That's why I bought the pedal exerciser.  I don't have room in my house for a recumbent bike.  I'm hoping I can get the same workout with the pedal exerciser.

And...by the way....being a senior citizen does not mean you cannot be "fit".

Thank you to everyone who responded to my inquiry

Depends on the type of "pedal exerciser" you purchased.

Yes, you definitely can work up a sweat.  Set the resistance higher, cycle at a good pace, and increase the length of your sessions.

I encourage you to buy a minicycle where pedal action is exactly like a bicycle if that is not what you are using.  Your entire foot goes up and down in a circle rather than just the front of the foot.  They are often called ellipticals.  The concept on ellipticals is similar, but not the same as a bicycle.  QVC sells both styles.

Below are links to those QVC sells.

Bicycle types I recommend; however, I'm recommending this style, not necessarily the brands.  I paid over $150 for mine over 20 years ago, so today it would cost much more.  It's taken a beating and still looks and works like new.  The brand is Sharper Image; however, they don't carry this model anymore.

Elliptical I don't recommend
