I too had digestive problems with the Tumeric, but I wanted to give it a try and use up the capsules, so - I started taking it one hour after eating and for some reason, that resolved the problem!
The jury is still out though on whether or not it is helping my pain.

From your previous description, sounds like maybe your dose is too high right now for some reason. Might me making you hyper.
I can so relate to "sick of feeling like this." Feel better soon.

Taking a whole capsule causes me internal grief too - my esophogus and stomach feel like they are burning. So I go the partial route and I'm good. Give it a try.
Or, if you can find them, try turmeric TABLETS. I had no trouble with tablets. I used to buy them at CostCo but the company that makes them has also gone to capsules.
@sandraskates how much is in your capsules? We need 1200 - 1800 mg. of turmeric daily. It doesn't sound like you're getting enough. I agree on the tummy issues though. We split our dosage, half in the AM and half in the PM, after a meal and taken with a large glass of water to make sure it goes down all the way.
What I currently use is from Puritan's Pride and is a Turmeric / Tart Cherry combo. The turmeric is not as high in the dose as you mentioned:
720 mg turmeric
540 mg tart cherry
450 mg ginger
23 mg black pepper extract
+ a couple of other ingredients.
The main reason I like turmeric is because there have been studies that in countries that eat a lot of it, the incidence of Alzheimers is very low.
I also have some slight arthritis developing on the side of my neck. But since starting turmeric I no longer even know it's there.
And reading about tart cherry benefits on this board got me started on that. We also buy tart cherry juice from Trader Joe's.

@JeanLouiseFinch There was an article in the Readers Digest that contained a comment from a doctor re turmeric. He recommended 1/4 tsp. a day.

@chlema - that would fall into the acceptable range if one is using actual turmeric from their spice cabinet. That is not the same thing as what's in the capsules sold as supplements. Opening a supplement capsule and sprinkling a little over some food isn't going provide enough, nor is giving a few shakes from a spice jar into a particular recipe. If people want the benefit, they need to do the research to find out how much they need of whatever particular form they want to take.
