Nightowlz: 10 years? Really? I find your story hard to believe. I use Sonicare Diamond & have for many, many years. No dentist has ever said anything about showing their patients how to brush & care for teeth.

Have used Sonicare for years.  I got an OralB recently,  I prefer the Sonicare.

Sonicare for me. It was recommended to me by a few different dental pros. I own an older Flexcare. I can use Diamondclean brush heads on it, but I'm not a fan of those. I prefer the regular kind.

@Nightowlz@I am impressed.I think if you lived close by I would ask you to teach me dental care.I have so much trouble with my teeth.I always had 9 cavities every six months when I was a kid.I swear I brushed my teeth to death as I had huge fear of the dentist.

@Nightowlz  Wow....that is really remarkable!  You must have pretty good teeth genes too.

I have used Sonicare for years..  My Hygienist  says I have very little plaque when she cleans my teeth, so  as long as it works, I am happy.  My dentist recommended Sonicare.  I haven't had a cavity since I was in high school and I was told that my gums were perfect.  Much better shape than even younger people.

Sonicare and Colgate are my secret weapons.

I had a Sonic Care for years & didn't use it as much as I should have because the brush head felt too big for my mouth & wasn't comfortable to use.  I now have an Oral B Triumph & I like it a lot better & like the smaller brush head.  Not sure if my mouth is small or the space in the back of my mouth is small or what, but the Oral B is easier to get into my back teeth to clean them.

I'm 63yo. I have all of my real teeth, including all four wisdoms. More importantly, is that I have never had a cavity in my life. I do not have one single filling in any of my teeth. I attribute my good teeth to an entire lifetime of fluoride treatments and  fluoride oral care products, along with doing regular flossing and using interdental picks/brushes. I haven't been to a dentist in more than ten years and believe my Sonicare has also helped with that.

eta- All is not entirely well because old age has started showing on thinning enamel and receding gums.

As much as I love my Sonicare, which I have been using for 10+ years, you can't replace dental visits with a great toothbrush.Trust me you CANNOT.

I hate going to the dentist, therefore I do all I can to care for my teeth. Only the dentist can remove stains between the teeth, plaque, check for gum disease etc. 10 years without a dentist visit is NOT recommended. Yes, Sonicare is my toothbrush of choice.
