Hey! How about that? They held a Pro Bowl and a real football game broke out! Neat! Kudos to Nick Foles for winning the offensive MVP of the Pro Bowl. All in all a pretty good showing by the Eagles in the game. LeSean McCoy did turn the ball over, but other than that it was a pretty good showing.

Watching Nick Foles play got me thinking about the names associated with the Eagles at QB over the past three years and how good Andy Reid/Howie Roseman(Eagles GM) are at finding good quarterbacks. In 2011 they wanted to draft Colin Kaepernick but the Niners beat them to him. In 2012 they made a run at Peyton Manning only to be told he'd prefer to stay in the AFC. They then looked into trading up in the draft to get RGIII only to find the price too high. They then worked out a trade with the Niners to get Kaepernick (who was then backing up Alex Smith) but the Niners ended up backing out when the guy they wanted to take with the pick they'd get from the Eagles was gone. The Eagles then set their sights on Russell Wilson but the Seahawks grabbed him first, so they settled for Nick Foles. So Peyton Manning, Colin Kaepernick, RGIII, Russell Wilson, and Nick Foles were all guys the Eagles tried to get. That's not a bad group of quarterbacks. When you look around the league at teams needing quarterbacks and that drafted guys who they thought would be good, the record of the Eagles' starts to look even better.

The Eagles may not be all that good at finding linebackers or safeties, but we're pretty darn good at identifying great quarterbacks. If he can stay healthy and keep progressing, Nick Foles may just turn out to be the best of the bunch. He's off to a heck of a start.

I enjoyed the Pro Bowl. This new format seemed to work out well. Nick Foles did a good job at quarterback; some of the other quarterbacks struggled. Defense didn't hold back, even with teammates.

It was fun to see players who I don't normally get to watch, and it wasn't difficult to keep track of who was on which team. They will probably go with this format in the next Pro Bowl, also.
