Does anyone watch the Pro Bowl? It seems like a lot of people don't care for it. I watch it every year because I like to see all the players from the different teams and it also gives me my football fix between the playoffs and Superbowl. The scenes of Hawaii are nice, also, especially since it's been so bitterly cold lately.

Since the premise is different this year, I don't know how it will go. I still have to get used to the idea that it's not AFC vs. NFC. Three Colts players are in it: Andrew Luck (who's taking over for it Russell Wilson), Robert Mathis and Matt Overton. Every year there is talk about discontinuing the Pro Bowl, but I don't know if it will ever come to that. In the meantime, I'll continue to watch it.

I used to watch the Pro Bowl but found that even though I like football, I snoozed during the Pro Bowl so DH and I have stopped watching.

Never watch it. Don't know too many who do.

I watch it for the same reason you do teganslaw. Satisfies my need for football during the weekend.

I think it's mostly a paid getaway vacay for the players. Not to be taken seriously.

Do you think the SB will be held on Sunday 2/2? I guess NFL officials said it can be held on any day from Fri. through Mon, depending on weather.

On the weather report last nite, there was "talk" of more snow on the Saturday before the Superbowl so anyone who is going better pack all their "woolies" cuz it's cold in that stadium anyway and to couple the winds with snow I'm getting cold just sitting here thinking about it.

The whole idea of having the Super Bowl on a different day than Sunday is the reason why they shouldn't have the game played in a really cold climate outside. What a dumb idea and if they change the day to Monday how messed up is that?? People work, what about the folks in NYC or elsewhere who have to try to get a room for an extra day - might not be too easy to do. The players are ready to play on Sunday, not Monday or Tuesday. It isn't fair to them, either. They are just meat as far as the NFL head honchos are concerned. They only care about the money the game brings in. As far as the Pro Bowl, I always watch it just because it's football, and I like to see the players having a good time. It isn't a serious game but I still enjoy it.

Hey Teganslaw....

I'm with you....I always watch the Pro-Bowl I gotta watch all the football I can, because I know after the Super Bowl the games are over until next preseason.{#emotions_dlg.crying}...And I like the scenery from Hawaii....and player interviews too...

Alfred Morris, Trent Williams, and Rak will be there for the Redskins....(Al and Rak were alternatives since no one seems to want to go)

So since players were drafted to teams regardless of conference I read that your Mathis wants to get a shot at Andrew Luck.....this is NOT a good idea!!!! I'm sure he was kidding ....Wink Hey Tegan---your Andrew and my Redskins are all on team Sanders! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

SPURT, Robert Mathis was originally on team Sanders, but he was traded to team Rice in exchange for Orapko. It should be interesting to see some of these matchups.

Andrew Luck was the #1 pick in this draft, also. Coincidence?? LOL. That might make him the only NFL player who was the first pick twice.

Chuck Pagano is the coach for team Sanders and Ron Rivera coach for team Rice. They choose the coaches from the highest seeded teams who lost in the divisional round, but not sure how it was decided which team each would coach.

I seem to remember the Pro Bowl after the Super Bowl. Now that's before the SB it seems to be touch football, nobody plays a real game. We will probably have it on anyway.

I know Super Bowl Sunday is a tradition. I wish it was Saturday. It's on so late the following Monday is a huge ordeal to go to work. I can never get that day off. DH is a supv and people always call off. Making his job worse.
