@Dazlin

Oh good luck with your trip to the doc. Hope they can figure it out.

My hearing went downhill after I suffered an ear stroke from a extreme spike in my BP.  That was over three years ago. M y hearing has gotten better, like my doctor said it would, but the tinnitus is still there. Could be from the BP med that causes tinnitus. It makes things difficult to hear clearly. My doctor says hearing aids won't help but a cochlear implant might...not going there either.

Re: Silent Heart Burn

[ Edited ]

@rockygems123  Me too, I've been on prilosec for over 20 years or more.  If one has a history of colon cancer or has had it I would not listen to this.  PS. I have Barrett's as well.  Still worried about taking two pricolec's daily?  Best of luck. Are your bones killing you or cancer?

Very scary on some opinions here until you and the ginger makes you worse. Yep, it will. Colon cancer is silent as well until it's to late. Awful comment and go to Gastric Doc ASAP.

Compounds (including 6-gingerol, 6-shogaol, paradol, and zingerone) found in ginger have anticancer properties. It's medicinal qualities are a well-known fact that goes back centuries in Eastern cultures.

Ginger makes my GERD worse, not better.

I’ve mentioned this before, but for ME, eating fermented vegetables (sauerkraut, kimchi etc) made a world of difference in my acid reflux. When I’m consistent to eat some every evening, it’s almost nonexistent.

Must be organic, refrigerated section of the store.

I hadn’t heard of silent heart burn either until recently starting to read the book Acid Watcher Diet, a prevention and healing program, by Jonathan Aviv, MD (practicing physician and professor of Otolaryngology at Mt Sinai in NY). Heartburn damage without symptoms is in Part I which is the first 64 pages of the book. I have hope for this 28-day healing plan working, because my not-so-silent symptoms haven’t resolved with pills, supplements, etc.
