Is anyone else having change of season junk???  This is my 5th day of it and I'm so worn out.  Coughing, sore throat, headache, fever, aches. Went to Urg Care and they said a virus, but gave me a Zpak anyway.

Took xrays, strep and flu swabs, all neg. I took a home Covid test, neg.  Oximeter is okay.  The coughing is the worst.  I have a feeling this is going to last all winter.  Ugh.  I'm old and have heart failure and low iron and I don't feel I have the strength to fight this in a quick way.  It sure is debilitating.

I will keep taking my cough pills, Tylenol, Albuterol, let's see, what else......

Sorry you're not feeling well. Persistent coughing is the worst. Can really wear you down. Sending you healing wishes.

No respiratory problems for me right now. My allergy and asthma meds must be working. I have severe allergies to grass pollen so when the grass growing season and mowing stops, that will be good news for me. 👍

Hope you feel better soon.

I hope you feel better soon! Sorry that you are not feeling good. Something is going around. I recently was sick with cough, congestion and fever. The cough was the worst at night. I took cough medicine, kept hydrated and got plenty of rest and sleep.

Drink as much water as you possibly can.

Also take a lot of vitamin C (it's not possible to overdo on it as your body just expels what it doesn't need).

Hope you feel better soon.

I'd take another covid test in a few more days.  It sounds like the new strain thats currently hitting people.

@Patriot3 - For a sore throat, I recommend So Delicious (or Silk) coconut milk (sold in the milk section of a supermarket in a 1/2 gallon carton). Two 8 oz glasses of it work well for me.

I also have found that what makes my cough go away best (better than cough drops) is sucking on two peppermint Tic Tacs, then, when finished with those Tic Tacs, drinking a cold bottle of water, which makes the throat feel fantastic -- very cool feeling, like the effects of menthol on the throat.

Other than that, if you can drink some hot green tea, either with or without a tablespoon of honey, that is also quite soothing and helpful.

Rest and fluids are so important when fighting a fever, also. I hope you feel completely better, very soon.

@Patriot3,

This sounds more like a virus that is going around rather than allergies that also typically have no fever.

Also with covd testing I've read so many times that it doesn't always test positive until after a few days

of symptoms.

It you feel worse just notify your doctor and hopefully they can give you some more help.

The only good thing about being sick is you're so happy when you are not anymore and appreciate being well all over again! Hope you get well soon!

@Patriot3

Oklahoma City has had record mold counts this year, along with the usual grass and tree junk floating around.  It's is awful!
