Just booked an at home session for next week I think it will be good for my body and soul. Has any one ever had one. Many year ago I have one as part of a facial but it was many years ago

My niece, a practicing psychologist, sponsors Reiki sessions and is a practitioner (or whatever such people are called).

My sister, her mom, has been to a session or two and found it beneficial.  Her description was a little vague so I'm not sure what it's all about.

@I am still oxox,

I've had many where I used to live and they were all so wonderful and beneficial especially if you have problems all over!

There was only one I didn't like. She was the only one who put her hands pressing down on me and they were heavy and hot. That isn't what any of the others did.

The Reiki masters (those with advanced training and can teach others), their hands would just hover over your body and sometimes wave them around and never touch.

While the soft soothing music played and in a quiet comfortable room and bed, I felt transported to a healing place. It was wonderful.

I should try to find a place here.

I hope you like it and makes you feel betterSmiley Happy

I had a wonderful Reiki practioner that I use to see for regular sessions for a couple of years.  Unfortunately for me, she moved out of state; and I've never sought out someone else.

At the time I first began seeing her, I was dealing with a lot of emotional issues (deep grief & other losses), and the sessions really helped me deal with that & bring joy back to my life.  I can't really explain how it worked; it just did.  Even after working through those issues, I continued to see her, because I found the sessions very meditative.  She did not place her hands on me, but did the "hovering over" technique.  I know it sounds crazy, but I really could feel the energy movements as she worked.

Anyway, I'm a "believer" and hope you find your session helpful with whatever you're dealing with!

Could Reiki legitimately be capitalizing on the Placebo Effect?
