There's something nagging @ me about this. Yes, he assaulted this woman. But she didn't want to prosecute. AND why did this woman marry this guy AFTER the assault?

The State doesn't like it, the League doesn't like it, the public doesn't like it, but.....the one person who should not like it....doesn't mind. Should we...not mind? Weird.

You should do some reading on emotional and physical abuse.

Don't assume she doesn't mind, assume she feels like she has no choice. She's probably been told that for a long time now. Remember, you don't need to be in a situation where you literally have no options to feel like you have no options. You don't literally need to be held captive to feel like there's no escape.

If you want to assume that we shouldn't mind because she doesn't, you're a part of the problem. This is why some areas don't require a woman to press charges and do it on behalf of the state.

Watch the whole video, she hit him. they both need anger management and conflict resolution. No excuse for women to hit men either. Grow up and act like an adult in control of yourself. She is not leaving a millionaire, get real.

That video was available and Baltimore is just caving. This is public pressure, mob mentality. The time for outrage was before the sentencing in court and by the NFl. Now is it just CYA. Pathetic on all fronts.

She needs more than anger management she needs some counseling as to why she would marry this abuser. He, belongs in jail. Once again, the rich and famous escape justice.

good post, ChynnaBlue

An abuser usually begins the abuse process by tearing down the victim's self esteem. Bringing her to a point where she feels useless and "deserving" of the abuse. By the time, the physical abuse begins, the victim is without hope.

To even attempt to blame the victim in a case like this demonstrates a very complete lack of understanding of the abuse process--and it is a process.

She hit him AFTER the first time he hit her. He hit her twice in the elevator...then after he dragged her out of the elevator, he kicked her.

But she DOES have options. Why isn't she using them?

This incident reminds of the Dallas Cowboys Josh Brent recently....where he killed Jerry Brown in a drunken car accident. He was changed for the crime, served his sentenced & wants to return to work. Everyone's upset....everyone expect Jerry Brown's mother. She's the only one that wants to move forward.

My point is....the one person you would least expect, is the one we should focus on.

Why would she marry the abuser?

MONEY, LIFESTYLE

yes, cynical but more than likely accurate.

For all we know, he might have threatened to kill her if she ever leaves him.

After all, HE went through with the wedding too...he could have called it off himself if he thought she was abusive or brought out the worst in him.

Remember OJ threatened to kill Nicole...and he went through with his threats...after she separated from him...

When we visited the College Football Hall of Fame (when it was in South Bend) They had busts of the Heisman Trophy winners. There was an empty space where OJ's would have been. I do not know if it was ever replaced.
