I am putting money on cause being related to the immune suppressing drug.
my Aunt and MIL both take such drugs and they both are now "allergic" to everything. They both complian of rashes. My MIL now has a rash down both of her arms!!
I will be going to the Dr with my aunt on her next appt. We are concerned that the drug is causing more problems than it is solving.

@Abrowneyegirl I had problems with the first drug I was taking to suppress my immune system and kept getting infections. I changed the medication and I have been fine as far as not getting infections.

You are a better woman than me.
I couldn't stand a rash that long.
Hope you hear from your doctor soon

Seriously? Three weeks of itching so badly that you are self medicating? If it's been 3 weeks, I would have already seen the doctor two weeks ago.

Look up Grover’s disease. Looks like a heat rash, comes on suddenly and can last up to 6 months. It’s called a disease but it’s considered an acute condition. Folks who have are prone to recurrence however and the rash can move.
I met with a top dermatologist (takes care of Congressman and senior military officers). He recognized it right away. Said his experience tells him stress is a factor.
it drove me crazy....heat/sweat seemed to aggravate. Regular docs thought I developed a food allerg.

@Katcat1 wrote:I am so sick of this rash. I believe I was allergic to a new dusting powder I purchased from the Vermont Country Store. Because where the rash is appearing is where I applied the powder. However, not everywhere. I used zinc oxide on it, took Benadryl, anti-itch cream because sometimes it itches and not everywhere. It is completely strange. However it is going on 3 weeks having this. I wonder because I inject a drug to suppress my immune system is stopping me from healing faster. I sent my dr. an email so I will probably hear something back on Mon or Tues. asking her if she needs to see me or would she directly send me to a Dermatologist? I am so sick of the itching and having to apply the zinc oxide. Oh, I also medicated baby powder with zinc oxide. Have you ever had a rash that sounds like this that is difficult to treat?
@Katcat1 I had a rash for over three years. I am not sure how long I had it before I discovered it, because it was on my back.
I did not have any itch so that part was good. Saw a Dermatologist, They did a biopsy and blood work and nothing showed. They started me on Steroids (which was awful) but it took the rash away.
It came back and again and so another round of steroids. Then a third time and the last time I saw her, she said you are most likely having this from stress. (my hubby was very sick at the time) It took 3 years to get rid of it completely. My Dr. had me use a cream with the steroid called Sarna. You can buy Sarna anywhere. It is really good for itch. Long story---It went away after my hubby passed away.
She was baffled that it never itched. Rashes are hard to diagnose sometimes. Have you used any new soap, new laundry detergent, new clothing, and any new meds. If you have tried all that see a Dermatologist. Don't mess with GP's. Mine did burn at times which the Sarna helped with that. Mine also looked like blisters. In a year it covered my whole body except my face, and hands and feet. Good Luck! Hope you get some answers.

@BalletBabe Some of it has healed some but I still have it pretty bad on the underarms. I am waiting for the referral to go through so I can see a dermatologist. I am going to call her office tomorrow to see if I can schedule an appt. Thanks for sharing your story.

@Katcat1 That is why I will never have a HMO. I hope you can get rid of it. If mine would have itched, I would have lost my mind.

I have a rash on my shoulders and neck. I uses Westmore’s cream to cover freckles and spots for a wedding. It was awful and it had sparkles. I am using medicated powder. Bought it from The Q. Should send it back but through away the box.

@Catiele I Use Gold Bond Medicated powder and Walmart has a generic, works great. If it itches try the Sarna. It works great. Walmart has that also.
