This isn't meant to be a debate about flu shots. Just wondering, if you do get one, when do you get it?
We usually get ours at the grocery store pharmacy, Publix. They're running a promotion right now. Free $10 Publix gift card when you get a flu shot.
I know we took advantage of this last year and got ours in September, but I think it was more toward mid-month.
When we went to our new primary for the first time this past February, I asked him if we needed to get a second shot to get us through the season and he said no.
So, we'll probably get ours in the next week or so.

I'll probably wait until late this month or early next.

Usually around October but the last time I saw my primary (just for a blood pressure check) he told me I could get it when I go in again the first week of Dec. I thought that was kind of late so might give his office a call in Oct and see if they say to go in and get it. Another shot we discussed was the new shingles shot which you get in 2 doses. That one he recommended I get it at the pharmacy as it would be cheaper. Ha! It's going to be $150 for the first dose. That's my portion, the pharmacist checked w/my insurance (a Medicare Advantage plan) and that's my deductible for it. He wasn't sure if the second dose would be more. In any case they were out of it so I'm waiting for the call saying they got more in. That hurts but no doubt not as much as having the shingles would.

I received a notice in the mail from Walgreens 2 weeks ago that they vaccine was in. Got mine already. There is no set time to get it.

Probably the end of this month or early in October.
I've been getting mine at Walgreen's as there's no cost to me to get it there. My PCP's office charges a fee to administer the vaccine, and while the actual vaccine itself is covered by my insurance, the administration fee isn't.

I always got it at work in early November but since I retired I get them from my PCP - last couple of years in late September/early October.

I usually wait until mid October, but I think I will get it this week at CVS. Will have to get my cataracts removed starting 9/20 and sometime in October. So I decided to do the flu shot now and get that out of the way just in case there is an early onset of the flu this year.

@gidgetghFunny you should ask! I have surgery scheduled for early October and just realized I should try to have my flu shot now so it has time to take effect long before then.
Timing and who has the senior shot available will determine where I go - my doctor's office or a drugstore seem to be my options.
