Re: Quality supplement websites ?

@Beauty$Junkie...does your husband take anything for joints?  I recently was diagnosed with osteoprosis in my hip and arthritis in my spine.  I am thinking of taking something for the pain from the arthritis.

Currently the  VItamin C and D that I take comes from the drug store....not even sure of the brand, should I be looking for something better than a drug store brand for those two vitamins as well?

Re: Quality supplement websites ?

@Julie_23

I won't do geletin either.

Go to any site, Vitamin Shoppe, Lucky Vitamin, iherb, etc and simply type in *vegan* ________ (blank) and whatever specific supplement you're looking for.

Garden of Life is a good brand, usually organic, at the very least Non GMO.   Plant Life is also good, MRM, and NOW brand.

Just shop around for prices.  I stick to VS because they're quick and they do have a rewards program I use and I get 4X the points on my airline card...lol

I don't use their brand (Vitamin Shoppe's) and I don't use New Chapter.

Re: Quality supplement websites ?

Julie....I won't consume geletin either and respect your decision.  I search out the best quality for each supplement. I use herbs, food, fasting, and/or other strategies depending on the challenge before resorting to supplements.  Dr. Morse is an inspiration on this journey, as well as others who resort to natural methods of healing and health.  There is always so much to share, but I hesitate on a public forum.  I am wishing you the best of health and I know you will find exactly what you need.

I am looking for a website that sells quality, trusted supplements.  I like Andrew Lessman; however, I do not like the gelatin (not vegetarian) capsules.  The particular supplement I'm looking at has an odor so I'm wanting to use it in capsule form (instead of just opening it).

Please, any suggestions?  Thanks!

I understand if this forum doesn't allow website links --- a simple NAME would be helpful.  I can then look for the website from the name.

Thanks again!

Re: Quality supplement websites ?

I don't look for gurus or snake oil charmers.  they give me the willies.

Presently, I purchase mostly from PureFormulas.  They're located in Florida and were started by a couple of guys who emmigrated from Cuba with very little and built up this business.  I just ordered my B12/Folate (Methelated) for $16.10 for 60 caps and zero shipping.  It will arrive in 3 days.  I'm working with them to carry my Calcium gel caps, as they're easy to swallow and am hopping they're able to come through for me.  (I had absorption issues relevant to microscopic colitis and this B12/Folate Methelated version not only brought up my blood level of B12 and Folate within normal levels, but decreased my level of anemia.)

Though just a beginner with them, I've just started to venture out and look through their "personal products" as well.  Love their recipes, many of which I've passed along to my daughter who must eat gluten-free and loves vegan recipes as well.

@Julie_23@sfnative

I thought I'd checked the Lessman capsules and that they are vege? But maybe not.

@sfnative

The last time Lessman was on, I was actually listening (rare) and he mentioned that he has a folate metabolizing deficiency and so for his formulation? Not sure.

I like Garden of Life Enzymes and will not be without. (GI issues) Do not care for their multi--has an ingredient that is processed by my body into a wired smell -- sorry if TMI.

Am having issues that I can only attribute to chemical sensitivity. So, right now I'm sticking with whatever works.

Swanson turmeric is one. Lessman multi/AM-PM, etc.

Re: Quality supplement websites ?

Hi again, everyone.  Sorry for the delay.  I wanted to thank you all for the helpful suggestions.  I really appreciate your input.

Thanks again!

P.S. - @phoenixbrd - I, too, am a fan of natural methods of healing (including fasting).  I have also heard of Dr. Morse and have seen some of his videos.  Thanks for mentioning.
