@on the bay wrote:The body align look interesting. I'd never heard of them.
Do they work on the same principle as a tens unit do you think?
Have you moticed any side effects with the pain or sleep ones if you tried them too?
And last, it seems you can only order them from the website?
Thanks for mentioning these and also for any answers!
Whoops ... missed that question. No I have not noticed any side effects. I also like that you can shower with them on, and I didn't notice a drop in effectiveness after that.
While I consider them very effective, keep in mind they may not eliminate ALL pain. However, if my pain is at a 9 on the one-to-ten scale, and it drops to a 3, I think that's perfectly fine. HTH

Thank you for the answers!
I might give them a try

I don't know if you're still posting here but I wanted to thank you for your recommendation of the Body Align wellness band and the patches.
I actually ordered them and I do like both! Still not sure if the band is like a placebo but I do think it helps generally having more energy even when I'm tired and strangely it makes me feel more calm if I'm stressed out.
I do think the pain patches help a lot too!
So thank you!

So glad they worked out for you! I save mine for intense pain, and it seems to short circuit the nerve endings and relieve pain. No calories or smelly topicals to deal with, LOL.

I bought some patches with lidocaine in it---think it was Targets brand--and used few times with not much relief---but I do use the Voltaren gel and that stuff really works very well. Use it 2x a day on my sore shoulder and various aches and pains--got mine from AMZ --about $20 a tube. Helps with arthritis too.

I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder. The physical therapist used Biofreeze roll on.Available at most any store. It worked better than Salonpas for me. Got off all oral pain medication.

The problem with the patches i have used is that they dont stay on for long, and I find them all over the house. Lidocaine 4%. You can get RX with 5% if the doctor will write a script for it.

@BornToShop wrote:I have a bad shoulder due a fall slipping on ice this past winter and I'm not wanting to take oral pain relievers. Any recommendations on pain patches that have worked? TIA!
I too have a bad shoulder, just not from a fall while ice skating, or outside walking. My right shoulder has a tear in the Rotator Cuff. It is fine as long as I never move it, which is seldom, because it is my dominate arm.
Right now I am doing specific exercises I did over past when it was torn many years ago. They help maintain my strength, and do relieve some of the pain.
I cannot take any type of pain med other than Acetaminophen(Tylenol) because of my past massive Colon bleeds. I see you do not want to take oral pain meds. Like myself, you must have a reason.
I stated my reason above, which are not connected to my desire to take them or not. I just feel that my 15 Colonoscopies, and 130 Blood Transfusions are enough for me. Not ready to risk more hospital weeks and more Blood/Iron/Transfusions/Infusions.
Never tried a patch, but it is a thought. O first will have to see what ingredients are used. I cannot use anything that interferes with blood INR/ProTime levels.
Will read other posts after I sign off here and see if anyone mentions the ingredients in specific brand of patches.
Hope something here helps you reduce the shoulder pain.

I prefer Stopain Roll On to BioFreeze, I think the ingredients used in Stopain are more comprehensive.

@hckynutjohn So sorry to hear all you are dealing with, wow. You are a trouper! I have excellent results from the below gel-patches. The only ingredient is 4% Lidocaine. Not sure if Lidocaine is off limits to you. I don't want to take oral pain relievers long term for fear of liver or kidney issues. I'll be having my first colonoscopy in a couple of weeks and no question you are full of advise! Not looking forward to it, ugh. Take care!
