@2sisters  You're welcome! I'm on a mission too, 2sisters Smiley LOLHeart!  I'm going grocery shopping on Monday and I'm going to try and get a pint or two of Little Debbie ice cream in the Oatmeal Cream Pie flavor and the Honeybun flavor! There are a ton of Little Debbie ice cream flavors, so you will have a wide variety to choose from! Let me know your thoughts once you get a pint or two! Smiley Happy

Re: ORTHOPEDIC VISIT FOR MOM

@cheriere

I am just now seeing this post about your dear mom breaking her wrist. I am so very sorry. Your mom is so lucky to have such a loving, caring daughter to act as her advocate as well taking such good care of her in the home.

I know a bit about broken wrists as I broke mine in 2022. My bone was snapped in two and I did have surgery with a metal plate and screws inserted, which I don't think is a bad thing. I have heard having surgery can prevent arthritis.

I would not encourage your mom to take up driving so soon after her break. I am left-handed and of course broke that wrist so I could not even close the car door.

Since you both have some ill feelings toward the Orthopedic doctor, do you think you could maybe consult with another for a second opinion? Either way healing is a process. My surgeon told me it can take up to a year to heal and she was spot on.

Cheriere, you have a big fan base here who  have your back. Know that you can come and vent whenever you feel the need, but also please let us know how your sweet mom is doing. We care.

Thank you so very much for your kind post.  It really touched me to read.❤️

I'm really so sorry that you went through such a bad break yourself.  I guess she's really very lucky.  It could've been a whole lot worse.

Its true, she's not incredibly pleased with this ortho dr to say the least.  I'm currently looking for another where I go to the dr in Nashville.  I have an appointment Friday and am hoping that I can get my dr to take a look at it and give her a good referral.  We live in a tiny town and there's a lot more to choose from there.

Again, I truly appreciate your reading and responding to my post.  It really means a lot.❤️

On a happier note, I've been finding a lot of wild mushrooms, not morels, while on my nature walks.  I thought of you.😃

Of course, I don't know enough about any of these to remotely consider eating any, but I have taken some good pics I'm hoping to research and learn from.  Maybe if I decide to create a post showing some of the pics, you can lend your opinion if you recognize any.😃❤️

Breaking a bone must be just be like having a baby. I had forgotten about the pain until I really thought about it.

Then it started coming back to me. I didn't leave the house for a long time without wearing a sling for fear of someone running into me. I even wore it to bed and put a folding chair next to the bed so I could lay my arm on it. Didn't want my husband rolling over on it.😄

I hope your mom's pain has subsided somewhat and her doctor is not being so stingy with meds.

I'm sure it is difficult for you too so be sure to take good care of yourself. You have to be well to assist your mom during her recovery. I will continue to keep you both in my prayers.💕

She asked about a sling after they cast it, but he didn't act like she needed one.  So, we've sorta made one at home for her to wear.  She's still really sore and at times in a lot of pain.  The way she describes it sounds like a toothache.  However, it radiates up to her shoulder.  She'd mentioned her shoulder hurting and perhaps needing an X-ray, but he didn't think it was necessary.

Thank you for remembering us in your prayers.  That really means a lot to the both of us.  I've been sharing all the kind posts and they've really done wonders for lifting her spirit.❤️

@ cheriere

My friend, a senior, recently had a fall & had a nondisplaced fracture of her right arm.  Altho she did not need surgery she was in a sling for approx 3 weeks & her orthopedic dr said not to drive before her 6 week check up when she would be reevaluated to see if she was ready to drive.

I really appreciate your letting me know this information.  I'll be sure and pass this along.  I knows she's gonna be disappointed, but I can happily be her chauffeur for awhile.😃❤️
