I ordered some a very long time ago and thought it was horrible, like cardboard. By the time you've bought the meat and the bread, etc. etc. I figured it was even more expensive and a lot more work... (make my meal, make the meal for everyone else!) I sent it back.
Then a few years later I became diabetic. Abject fear made me cut out all sugar and simple carbs, limiting complex carbs and watching starch and ate a bit more meat (lean), I had vegetables and fruit (limited) and I quickly lost 30lbs. And I've kept it off and kept my sugars in control. I'm very proud of this because at the time I ordered the Nutrisystem I didn't think I'd ever get my eating under control. Don't let a horrible disease like Diabetes be the trigger for losing weight.... everyone can do this, and after a while you don't miss the sugar and don't crave the white carbs, it's amazing. And... by limiting what I've been eating, food bills have actually gone down (I'm not buying junk and I'm not eating as much).
Honestly... you CAN do it~!!

I've been eating Nutrisystem for over a year. I live alone, and have a disability and hate to cook. I've lost 25 lbs. and would have lost more but I'm pretty much sedentary. On the weekends off system. I've continued eating it because I know I get a balanced diet with the fresh fruits and vegetables that I purchase. There are some foods in the diet that I'm not too crazy about but I can live with it.

I worked with a lady who tried this system. The meals she brought to work looked horrible and she usually only ate a few bites of it before throwing it away. The commercials Marie does are on constantly and so annoying! I would never use this stuff; high in sodium and carbs. I have seen some of the food at Big Lots; guess that is where it goes to die....it was all 99 cents and by looking at the labels, was just gross to me.

I have been on NutriSystem two separate times, wanting to lose the same 20 lbs. I did lose weight both times. But once I went off, I gained it all back. The portions are small, but I thought the food was pretty good. There were just a few items that I did not care for. I found that I was mildly hungry the whole day while on the plan. But I was motivated, so I stuck with it. I stopped months ago before I finished my 5 month plan. I still have one box of the food that I never opened. I keep staring at it on my dining room floor. I will force myself to eat it soon so I don't waste that money.
My advice to anyone would be to make your own healthy eating plan. What good is it to buy prepacked food to eat and lose weight, then go off it? Why start something if that is not what you are going to maintain for the rest of your life? I know I won't ever be sucked into ordering it again. The whole notion of "Once I lose the weight I will be able to keep it off," does not work for most people.

The box at walmart contains 5 days of meals for 45 dollars, no snacks. On the website the plan where you choose what food you want is 329.99 for 28 day delivery. Who can afford such a thing??????

I don't really need it that bad to subject myself to all the additives and expense, but I was wondering if it worked as well and as easy as they claim. I did do some googling to find out what others who have tried it thought, and the reviews were about half and half. Thank you, Circles, for the Wal-Mart info, that's something to keep in mind, and thank you Gemmy for the buddy bucks offer, so nice of you! I think you may be right, Desertdi, that you could possibly create your own meals at home, and probably a lot healthier without the additives, which kinda scare me. Marie looks great, but I've always wondered how Dolly lost all her weight and has stayed so thin!
If you're referring to Dolly Parton, I believe I read years ago (when she really started to slim down) that she would eat anything she wants but she takes only 2-3 bites of each item. Whatever she's done and is still doing, she has maintained the weight loss.

I was on Nutrisystem and lost 20 lbs. I did not buy my food from QVC but from Nurtisystem where I could pick what I wanted to eat. The frozen is the most expensive and probably more appetizing but the My Way is good not as expensive and you can pick and choose all your meals. You eat lots of fresh vegetables and salads that you get at the store so be aware that after spending a lot of money you are still buying food at the store to supplement your program. You should go on it for awhile just to learn portion control from the size of meals and snacks they give you, if you can stick to it after Nutrisystem which most of us don't you should be able to keep the weight off, most end up back on the program because they didn't pay attention to how small portions are that you are suppose to eat.
