Does anyone take this medication?  Please share what you can. I understand it has a lot of side effects.

Thanks

Yep; I do.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker, and one of the three different types of BP meds I must take.  I've had high blood pressure since I was 19.

My dosage is 10 mg daily, and I've been on it many years without issue. Very thankfully, as it's the most crucial of them.

There can be side effects with just about anything, but you should always outweigh the certain positives against any possible negatives.

I've been taking this med at 10 mg daily for over 10 years. I've had good results re: blood pressure control with no side effects. Hope this helps.

My 91 year old mother has taken it for many years without issues.

When I first began with BP meds, I was prescribed Lisinopril.  It gave me that bad, constant cough.  Then the doctor switched me to Norvasc.  It made my legs swell badly.  I had been reading on my own about different options and asked him if we could just do a simple water pill.  For the most part, that's been the most successful for me.  I still get occasional swelling if I'm sitting at my desk too long, but it's doing the job for my BP.

I've been taking Lisinopril for many years without any issues. I was just prescribed Norvasc in addition to my Lisinopril. Been taking Norvasc since June without problems.

I was on this for many years.  It controlled my BP well and I had no trouble with it.  I am no longer on it as my meds had to be changed after my quadruple bypass a month or so ago.
