I just stocked up on two pkgs (3 in each) of my romaine lettuce. Mine was grown and processed in CA. I'm not worried.

@ID2.  Yes, looks like you are safe. Supposedly the bad romaine is from Arizona.

I love Romaine and its all I usually buy although years ago our family used only Iceburg.

I hope that the regular Romaine is still fine but I did buy some Green Leaf yesterday just in case this affects all Romaine!

I like to combine romaine, red leaf and green leaf when they are all abundant and beautiful in my market.

Our state is not one of the affected states but even so I'm sure our market would have pulled anything if they thought there was a possibility of contamination.

Although that doesn't mean that romaine from other states won't end up the same way as the romaine from Arizona.

My daughter is a manager at a steak house and she said she took the initiative last night and threw out 9 cases of it.  She said the boxes from the supplier said one thing but the twist ties around the bunches said something else and she didn't want to take a chance.  She'd rather take the loss for waste than insurance claims because of people getting sick.

I called Dole today.  I had purchased two bags of mixed veg and greens.

Their recording said they have Not been contacted by ANY regulatory agency about their products.

Re: New update on Romaine lettuce E.Coli

Today I asked at the grocery where their romaine was from. They said California and even got out a packing box to show me. So I felt pretty safe buying it.  I eat salad for lunch every day, and romaine is a main ingredient. Gotta have my greens.
