Re: Need advice on dealing with a bad patient/family issues

@qbetzforreal I did take myself out on St Patrick's Day. I honestly love solitude. It recharges me after a stressful job dealing with people's problems. Plus I do need to get this test done so it was good to be forced to get going on it.

If I had to psychoanalyze my mother, she's had a lot of struggle and drama. To me, when you fight so hard sometimes you don't recognize when the bad times ease up because fighting is all you know. If you are not "surviving" something, you don't think you're doing life right.

My mother is now secure in all the basics (money, home, time, health) and I wish she would enjoy what most of us are still hoping to achieve rather than getting caught up in the perceived negativity in her head.

@Laura14  Have you decided on a destination? When do you think you can leave?

@YorkieonmyPillow If the hospital job doesn't work for me here, I will probably go to Iowa.  I am most familiar with it and could probably get set up quickly.  As soon as I get certification, I am going to start applying and see what kind of response I get.  I have been following the job market there for years and they always seem to need techs so hopefully it will be an easy transition.

Pharmacy techs start on a very low salary so I am a little skittish to go elsewhere until I at least get my wage up to Senior Tech which I think I can do fairly quickly.  My externship wanted to hire me at that wage so I know I can impress others the same way just as quick. I have plenty of savings but I'm not sure what apartments want these days and I don't want to drain it for too long with a higher cost of living in a big city.

My car just cost me $700 for new tires and maintenance so I am looking to throw it over sooner rather than later.

Certified techs make about $25,000 and senior ones are around $30,000 for retail.  Hospital techs are around $35,000 and up depending on your extra certifications.

@Laura14@I think your mom needs to go home to finish her recuperation. She will do better in her own place and you can get on with your life.I don’t know why she hasn’t gone home if her surgery went well.

Me either!  Came home to laundry and an open door.  Got hopeful but she never came out to say hi so I finally went into my bedroom to change from my work clothes.  Doorbell rang while I was getting ready and sounded like my sister picked her up.

I am honestly coming to a place of peace with my future plans and it's bothering me less and less.  Got my car all prepped today which I didn't plan but was very grateful to not have to worry about it for several more years especially if I move.  Just have to hope no one drives through any more stop signs and runs me over again!  State Farm even sent me a surprise check since my car is worth less and less that paid for about half of today's expense.

Can't tell you all how much of a help you've all been to me.  This certainly didn't go the way I thought it would.  Thank you all very much!

@Laura14@Well if your mom stays any longer ask her to pay rent cause it looks to me like she is moving in.

i don’t know how this story went from I am hosting my mom while she recovers from a surgery to if she doesn’t move out..I will.I don’t understand why if your mom won’t even talk to you that she is not either going home or moving to your sisters place.
