Has anyone ever dealt with neck popping or crunching? For the last week or so every time I turn my head to the left it sounds like the bones in my neck are crunching. It doesn't hurt and I have no pain it's just so annoying.
I appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you.

Yes, for sure. From Arthritis.

Do you have that every time you turn your head or just every so often? Mine is constant. Does it ever get better or go away?
Thank you for your reply.

If it's frequent or constant, if there's pain; you need to see a doctor.

Join the club. I had cervical spine fusion a few years ago. Most recently, I hear my neck when I turn, lean, or tilt in certain ways while doing my eye makeup. I wondered if it was related to my limited ROM from after the surgery, but I think it's the arthritis in my neck. It's not at all painful.

@Squirt60 Yes I had that condition...but I had pain along with it. Eventually my family doctor recommended a pain specialist and it was determined that I had stenosis in a few of my vertebrae... which unfortunately comes with age for some people. Although I am older... I think mine started with lifting my little grandkids. The doctor recommended a series of epidural shots. Within a few months I was pain free.. and no crunching. As other posts suggested...it could be arthritis. Best to get a professional evaluation.

A good chiropractor could take care of that.

Luckily I have no pain with this crunching. After listening to this all day it starts to get on my nerves. I do have my annual physical coming up in a few weeks so I Will mention it to her, hopefully it is nothing serious.
Thank you all for your replies. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

It's called crepitus and is not harmful unless you have pain. This is according to a local chiropractor who has a radio show. But it never hurts to mention it to your own physician or chiropractor.

@Squirt60 Thank you! This happens to be me also. I have Rheumatiod Arthritis so I figured that was causing it.
But I always wondered if only I could hear it or if others could hear it if they were sitting next to me.
