Saw this on FaceBook this morning.......

Mosquito bites

  1. Spray the area with peroxide. This makes the bite mark open a little more. (It eats away at the damaged skin, this is to help new skin cells grow in a semi-sterile environment.)

  2. Dip your finger in Vicks vapor rub, THEN dip it into salt. (the more liberal, the better)

  3. Rub the area vigorously.

What happens is the peroxide opens the bite, the salt is to draw out the poison, but it helps so much at satisfying the itch. The Vicks vapor rub heats up the area, as heating anything makes molecules move faster. It promotes the area to throw out the poison.

THIS WORKS!!!! I've used off brands of vapor rub and they often dissolve the salt. work below par and you have to treat several times. I have one Vicks container with salt I use just for bites and the salt stays gritty. I react so bad, some bites will swell up bigger than a quarter. As a child, I was miserable and scratched and got several bites over the years infected. But this is soothing, and there is no itch after you treat, or at least 90% less scratching. IMPORTANT for children when they've been bitten.

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE, AND I PROMISE YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT THE RESULTS.

My daughter has this device that looks like the plastic thing that holds an injection. It has no needle but you put the tip on the bug bite and pull the plunger and it removes the venom "sac" from your body. They get them from amazon and I don't know the name of it. Supposedly there are several types. Maybe this would work because if you can remove the venom sac quickly, you won't have such a big reaction.

It was a Shark Tank item.  I bought it.

Doesn't do ****** unless you are RIGHT ON TOP OF IT.

I use thieves oil as an insect repellent. What I do with it is take an old shoe lace, cut it to about 6" or so and then put several drops of the thieves oil onto the piece of shoe lace then attach it to something I'm wearing (a safety pin or small clip will do). The smell of it is very medicinal yet likable. The story behind 'thieves oil' is a very interesting one, btw.

Works great.  I even give them to my dog.

We spray our dog (and our legs) with Wondercide when we go for our walks.  It is all natural.
