+1 for Andrew Lessman's Fibermucil

You will never want to be without it.

I only bought it as the companion to the Cholestacare and didnt' think about the other benefits outside of helping with cholesterol.

It's a winner.

My gastroenterologist told me numerous times not to use Metamucil because it causes gas--he recommended Citrucel. However, I cannot stomach any of that stuff---I take Colace and it works fine.

I've taken Metamucil every day for thirty years or more.  Can't go a day without it.  I saw a gastroenterologist and had a lot of testing done.  One of the things he told me is that once I got over the acute issue, if I would take Metamucil every day, I would likely be fine forever.  Metamucil balances the colon in several ways.  And, he was right.  I will never be without it.  I'm really glad they have the capsules now and I don't have to take the powder that i did for so long.
