I am sorry. That is why I usually steer clear of quotes of a quote that is quoted, and on and on. My mistake, I tried to correct it with my ETA.

The other day during his news briefing our governor drove the point home that masks work by citing the lower incidence of infection among hospital workers and front line responders than in the general public. Why? Because they all wear masks. You would think these people would have an extremely high infection rate because of their hazardous work and extremely close contact with covid patients all day long. No it's exactly the opposite because they are wearing masks.
As for those who complain you are infringing on my rights by making me wear a mask - what about MY rights to a safe and healthy life? Gee that seems to be just a wee bit more important. And the smoking analogy is valid for the same exact reason.

The OP is taking this too far. While they can suggest masks, enforcing it as a law won't happen. Think of other unhealthy annoyances we put up with. Dog waste left in the curb, babies with dirty diapers sitting shopping carts.....

The mask mandate is not even enforced now.
Though most shoppers are wearing masks, the stores are not enforcing compliance, even though they all have clearly posted signs referencing the mandate. Heck, Wegmans doesn't even want police on their properties to enforce handicapped parking statutes, and just try to get them to run a PA announcement should you encounter a dog locked in a car on a 90° day. They're not in the business of alienating customers.
And chuck the "your droplets could infect me" nonsense, as that could be applied to any infectious disease such as the common cold or seasonal flus. 🤔Or is that the intent? Anyone wishing to avoid all possible droplets can simply stay home, and let the reasonable among us continue to live our lives.
Sorry, but masks will not be The New Normal.
Not gonna happen; wouldn't be prudent.

Wearing a mask is a sign of Personal Responsibility. Not wearing a mask shows a rejection of science & a willingness to inflict harm on others, without uttering a word.

We have to wear seatbelts, helmuts to bike, smoking is banned from most places, leash laws for dogs, shirts and shoes to enter a store or restuarant, etc....I don't see what is so awful about needing to wear a mask when out in public!!! For goodness sakes get over yourselves and stop the civil liberty nonsense!!!!!!!!!!
