Re: Low sodium diet

[ Edited ]

Just read your thread about being Irish!  Watch the salt in Irish foods, especially corned beef!  Love it...but I find Irish foods very high in salt.  Don't mean to be a downer!  Many of us fight that salt battle everyday!

I use Pink Himalayan salt.  Your taste for salt changes...yes, salt is less tempting!  It takes less to be satisfying for me!

Then there is the opposite problem. Low sodium which can be deadly.

My mother had high and low blood pressure alternating at different times and days.

She always read sodium content and tried to get lower sodium. She was in the hospital by ambulance several times for what turned out to be low sodium. So scary. Feeling totally disoriented and dizzy and light headed and almost unable to move or function.

My daughter has it too and sometimes me when I know eating something salty restores me to feeling like a human being. Now I'm wondering if it is genetic. I think it does seem to run in the family.

Still I think high pb is a scary thing too. I wish none of us ever had to have either!
