My husband lost his sense of taste from the anitbiotics he was on after his gallbladder surgery.

He would tell me if anything did have a taste to it, it was like burnt paper or dirt!  He would take two bites of something and not want anymore because he couldn't taste it even though he was hungry as heck.

It took about a week after he was finished with them for it to come back.
