@SXMGirl   Congratulations on your new look.  I too,have large upper arms.  It runs in mother's family. 

It has always been difficult for me to buy clothing, especially outerwear and forget about shirt and blouses.

I have often thought about having them reduced, but worried about the expense and pain.

I am really glad your surgery went well and I am sure you're gonna love your new found freedom to finally find clothing that fits.

Congratulations! Just wondering though, what age group are you in?🤔 I'm always afraid to have any elective surgery at my age(65).🙁

@Starpolisher  I am just about your age and I think we are always concerned about surgeries as we get older.  I do think that we also get to a point that if we cannot stand a certain thing about our bodies and can do something about it, we look for the best surgeon and the best facility and hope for the best.

My surgeon has his own top-of-the-line facility, and every one of his nurses was in the surgery room with me, which really surprised me.  The attention to detail was so intense that I felt very secure.  My surgeon is also affiliated with every hospital in our state.  There does need to be a high level of trust to undergo any kind of surgery, but especially cosmetic surgery, since this is something that is not required.  I was hoping for the best result and so far, I have it.  He tells me that my arms will only get better over the next months, but I am really satisfied right now.

I thought about that several years ago after I lost a lot of weight. I even had a phone consultation with a surgeon who does body contouring after weight loss.  Are you going to have a scar on the inside of your arm?  That's why I decided not to have it.  The surgeon told me that there would be a thin scar from under my arm pit down to the elbow.  It would be on the inside of my arm and not immediately visible but it would be there.  He said he did the phone consults first because a high percentage of women weren't interested in surgery when they found that out.  Of course, that was years ago.  there could be better techniques now.

@chrystaltree  I am sure that I will have a scar, but I can deal with a scar much better than the outrageously fat arms.  I have scars all over me from sports and other things and I did not want them.  A scar that will continue to fade over time versus fat arms, to me, is a decision that I had to make.  To put it in perspective, my boxing partner probably weighs 200 pounds more than me and she had better arms.  I will gladly take the scar.
