Just wondering if anyone has had worsening pain while being treated for arthritis with Humira. I started this med in October and feel as though my pain is worse. I have a doctor's appointment in two weeks and will discuss this with him, but I'm curious if anyone has had increased joint pain with this med. I have struggled with arthritis since 2002, so I know when something has changed.

I was on it. It helped and I noticed the difference but after a few months it quit working. What you are experiencing could be it was helping and then quit working. But yes defintly talk to your doctor.

I wouldn't touch that drug with a 50 foot pole because it can cause a lymphoma. I'm being treated for a lymphoma and happy to say it's gone, but to use the drug Humira, why risk having a lymphoma from the side effects. The treatments are rough on the body. I don't want chemo therapy again anytime soon.

Its not realistic to say that this specific drug causes another ailment to everyone. All drugs have side effects. OP should just wait and see what her doctor has to say.

@ID2 I'm presently being treated for a lymphoma. So I can say that. I truely believe a certain blood thinner gave me the lymphoma. If this drug can cause that, why risk it.

My dsughter takes Humira for Crohn's disease....while it has helped keep her flare-ups in check....she still has swollen joints and pain ....it hasn't helped that.
You doctor may have to tweak your dose..
I, myself don't like taking any medication unless I have to as a last resort.

I just started Humira last week for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was on Embrel, but the co pays went up to 150.00. Humira is only 20.00. I hope it helps with the joint pain and swelling.

My cousins wife got approved for Humira, and it worked wonders for her for about 6 months. She was literally kicking up her heels and getting out more, doing things she hadn't been able to do for a very long time.
After that period of time, she felt her joint pain was worsening. By 8 months she was absolutely sure her joint pain was worse, but the doctor wanted her to continue the medication.
Somewhere around 10 months, she experienced skin tears and open sores on her body with fluid "weeping" from those openings, which is when the doctor took her off the drug. Last I heard, she was trying to get insurance approval for Reclast?
