Re: Help going to court - overactive bladder and IBS

She has to do what she has to do...if wearing a depends helps reduce her anxiety, there is a chance the IBS might not be as much of a problem....

You need someone to have word with the judge that you have this problem.    I knew someone who had a colostomy (very unpredictable) and arranged to give a signal when they had to go out of the court room.

I have fructose intolerance and when I have to go it's not a job for depends!   You need to be able to leave the court room whoever you need to!

When I had that problem and had a jury summons, I asked to be excused and explained why.  They excused me.

The OP is not doing jury duty.  She's a participant in a legal matter.

I will be in court for a two- three week trial.  I have a overactive bladder with IBS. I know you get breaks but I go very often - My attorney is concerned that I am going to interrupt the court often. I was wondering if there is any medication to help this issue.

I also get nervous and what comes with that is stomach cramps/ IBS.

I have back problems, herniated disc with sciatica. I am a bundle of nerves. Besides anxiety medication ( makes me very tired) is ere anything that helps your nerves.

@Beautiful life

Just curious ....  so what did you do about this problem?  Have you seen your doctor?

Unless there isn't many jurors they excuse many people the morning of. I heard all the reasons, and the judge let them all go.(with no proof)

I was called for jury duty and  all I had to to answer to the judge what meds. I was on.  I have a number of health problems  and  when I got to the narcotics that I was on, he excusded me.   Also, I would be  going to the bathroom  all of the time.

I don't want to be insensitive but have you considered wearing a Depends if you feel you can't be excused to go to the ladies room?

I was on a 5 hour flight once and because I was nervous I had to get up twice and was in the middle seat.  This older lady was in the aisle seat.  After the second time of me apologizing she said that she didn't ever get up during a flight because she would wear a Depends.  She had no bladder problem but getting up during a flight bothered her.

That is just bizarre. I can't imagine why anyone would choose to wear basically a diaper and go on themselves just because they don't want to use the bathroom when on a plane. Not normal behavior. Even more bizarre that she is telling this to strangers sitting next to her.
