I will be in court for a two- three week trial. I have a overactive bladder with IBS. I know you get breaks but I go very often - My attorney is concerned that I am going to interrupt the court often. I was wondering if there is any medication to help this issue.
I also get nervous and what comes with that is stomach cramps/ IBS.
I have back problems, herniated disc with sciatica. I am a bundle of nerves. Besides anxiety medication ( makes me very tired) is ere anything that helps your nerves.

Get a note from your doctor to turn over to the court so you can be excused. I'm not doing jury duty. I could not wait for their breaks. When I have to go I would just get up & walk out of the courtroom trial or no trial.

@Beautiful life, there are various meds to address both problems, see your GP. If this is for jury duty, do your best to get excused. If it for something else besides jury duty, please get some help with meds if only for the duration of the trial.

Google "oxybutynin" ..... this is a great prescription med, but there's also an OTC I've seen at Walmart. Even safe for children, so talk to your MD about this ..... stat.

Don't eat or drink anything after dinner the night before! Dinner should be something light - food/drink that doesn't spark any issues as well. I have GI issues and sometimes resort to this when necessary.

I don't want to be insensitive but have you considered wearing a Depends if you feel you can't be excused to go to the ladies room?
I was on a 5 hour flight once and because I was nervous I had to get up twice and was in the middle seat. This older lady was in the aisle seat. After the second time of me apologizing she said that she didn't ever get up during a flight because she would wear a Depends. She had no bladder problem but getting up during a flight bothered her.

That is a good idea about Depends- what about the smell?

Good question, @Beautiful life. The lady I was sitting next to didn't smell. My mom wore one in the nursing home. She didn't smell unless it was on too long in which case, I'd have some one wash and change her.

I doubt there is much that can be done about the smell except change the depends.i hope that you will be given a special needs type of consideration for extra absences as you really can't control your medical problems...sure hope that this works out without any embarassment for you.
