Doesn't your finger hurt even more because the ring is stuck on there?
That's a very uncomfortable feeling...

Get it cut off, the ring that is. You'll need to work your finger and it's building up on the other side of the ring. I broke my hand a few months back and it's still not totally straight yet. I still have to massage it and move it. It gets stiff. Get someone medical to cut the ring off.

My father has never taken his off ever. Until he had bypass surgery and it was a huge fight. He actaully got wheeled back there with it on because he refused but they convinced him to remove it at the last minute. Good thing because his fingers were huge when he came out of there. So it was 55 years of wearing it.
@pigletsmom. My dad also never took his wedding ring off from the day they married until he died 66 years later. I expected it to be cremated with him but the funeral home returned it to us. I've wondered how they got it off.

Please have the ring cut off. It looks so uncomfortable and you run the risk of restricting the blood flow. They will snip the back to remove it. They will be able to add gold to make it bigger. While gold isn't cheap, it will be cheaper than a new setting.

get it off....a short snip...there has been discussion here about leaving diamond rings with jewelers because of incidences of switching the diamond with one of lesser quality. @Shanus is the jewelry expert here.

Don't ask me how I know this. LOL
Good luck!
This is good to know!
A number of years ago I had a ring that got stuck on my finger. It swelled up and I started to freak out. I drove myself to the local ER with my hand raised up (looked like I was waving to people as I drove by) to keep swelling down.
Anyway they didn't have a ring cutter (I hope they do now!!) and directed me to a local jeweler who did. He had an electric one and part of the device slips between the ring & finger to keep your finger from getting cut. I really don't remember what he charged me but I was greatly relieved!
I'm afraid I may need to have my wedding band cut off. I've gained weight since I've gotten married (36 years) and the ring hasn't come off in a very long time.
