@jubilant - I had this my freshman year of college. I went to the nurse's office early in the morning because I was really dizzy. I was swimming at the time, so I thought it was either swimmer's ear or another infection.

She called an ambulance and I went to the hospital. They put me in a bed with the rails up. My parents were 9-1/2 hours away.

I stayed in the hospital 3 days. My dad came to take me home. They gave me Antivert. I was home about 2 weeks then back to school. I stayed on Antivert about 6 months.

I have always had a problem with motion sickness. And I worry about getting Vertigo again.

I'm glad your therapy worked for you, and I hope you continue to feel great.  Smiley Happy

Thank you. I am so glad you found something that worked.

So far rhe exercise they gave me at the hospital is working for me.  I'm glad to hear about the Antivert. Those spinning

rooms are not fun.  I like getting all the answers  and info I can.

Vertigo can occur for multiple reasons. First of all, it's very common as you age. Most of the time it's crystals that form in the eustachian tubes in your inner ear, which get blocked and cause vertigo. Also, it could be a seasonal allergy or you can get vertigo from issues with your teeth (grinding/TMJ), acid reflux or stress.

I've dealt with vertigo off and on for a few years. I use a nasal spray like Flonase as needed and periodically an over-the-counter allergy med, which have worked fine. You can also go on YouTube and they have a lot of videos on exercises you can do to help move the crystals in your inner ear.  If it becomes a consistent problem and nothing's working well then, I would go to your general practitioner and make sure that you don't have an ear infection and/or go to an ENT so they can look deeper into your ears.
