I was watching Doctor Oz a week ago and he had a recipe of a healthy version of General Tso's Chicken.  I have been struggling since going grain, dairy, and gluten free and this one actually seemed to be as vegan as it gets and full of protein.  It was also recommended by one of the brain health guys.

Behold my pan below.  I poured it on a bed of riced cauliflower and added a bit of the leftover egg wash I had and mixed in broccoli with some greens.  I was licking my plate clean.

The primary ingredients are diced chicken, riced cauliflower or rice if you are good with grains, almond flour and a sauce made from chicken broth, lite soy sauce, vinegar, orange juice, spices (I used turmeric) and some sugar.  (I used stevia).

HIghly recommend!  The recipe is at the Doctor Oz website.  Just search General Tso and it should pop right up.  It took about 20 minutes to prep and cook.  Thumbs up on this one!

@Laura14  It sounds good, but I thought vegan meant no animal products.

@mousiegirl  You are correct.  Minus the chicken there is no dairy, wheat, gluten, sugar (in my version save for the little bit of orange juice).

Totally anti-inflammatory and so good.  I was still eating it out of the container as I was putting it away.  LOL

@mousiegirl

I giggled over that as well, once I read your post.

I couldn’t get past the part of ‘I was watching Doctor Oz.’

Lord.  Do people still watch this guy?

Funny how people toss around the word Vegan like they

know what it means. Oz prob said it...😆

@Teddie  Highly recommend.  I didn't have all the ingredients for the sauce so I substituted a lot and it is still the most phenomenal thing I've eaten in a long time.

It's "as Vegan as it gets"?  With chicken?  And egg wash?

I don't get it.

Here’s the vegan version...with little, if any, sat fat.

Tofu or Cauliflower...pick the beautiful plate!

Sweet...savory...with a little bit of crunch.

💚😋🌱

@Teddie

All these pictures are crispy chunks of Tofu or breaded cauliflower.

Much healthier than the OP.
