Re: Healthy Hair, Skin, Nails: Andrew Lessman

@1Professor   Lucky you to get results with Andrew Lessman Hair Skin and Nails!  I took it throughout my forties, and it had no impact that I could discern on my hair, skin or nails.  Since my thirties, I have noticed some thinning of my hair, which in the beginning was welcome because I had too much.  I was the person that made made hair stylists sweat and anxious.  But since my forties I have been trying to get my hairloss to stop.  Eventually, I stopped taking the HSN product and there was no change in my gradual hairloss, quality of skin or nails.  The last 2 years I started taking Vital Proteins and Nutrafol and have experienced significant results.  My skin and hair look better.  More and thicker hair in my head.  I am 62.  Too bad these products are so expensive.  No impact on my nails.  My toenails are and have always been OK.  My fingernails are frail, break and split easily.  Maybe I need to polish them regularly, to protect them, but I only do occasionally.  I have all my adult life moisturised my dry hands and fingernails often, and wear gloves when doing dishes or anything else that would be rough on my hands for more than a few minutes.

I know different products have different results for different people, and am just sharing my experience.

@Effie54 @1Professor  There is no strong evidence to support that using biotin is effective for hair growth or to prevent hair loss in people without a deficiency.

After I stopped the Lessman product, I decided to try Biotin because of all the word of mouth it gets, and research does say there is no harm in taking it.  So I took 5000 mcg for a couple or so years with no results, and one day I bought a bottle of 10000 mcg capsules because my drugstore did not have the 5000 mcg bottle (Biotin was often hard to find in my neighborhood), and within less than 2 weeks I was sweating profusely.  I could not even get dressed without sweating through my clothes.  I don't know if the biotin caused it, but some websites said that could happen.  That was in 2019.  So I quit the Biotin and never looked back.  My gp and endocrinologist found nothing that could cause the sweating.  I don't think they even considered the biotin, which I had stopped taking anyway shortly after the sweating started (that was the only change I had made that I thought may have caused it).  The sweating finally stopped in late 2021 or early 2022 on its own.  The sweating could have been caused by other medication or vitamin deficiencies, but I never identified the reason and am not taking the Biotin again.  I did stop taking a medication that was a potential culprit in 2020 and at some point increased my intake of D3 from 1000 iu to 2000 iu on my own, but the excessive sweating continued for almost two years until it stopped on its own.

Nutrafol does have some Biotin, 2500 mcg - 3000 mcg per dose.  I have noticed no negative side effects from taking Nutrafol, but more and healthier hair, so I will be sticking with that as long as that holds.

Thank you. That's good information. I might try Nutrafol. I hear good things about it. Thank you again!

I've taken this product for several years - my stylist always mentions my ''head full of hair''...I'm in my 70's.

I've taken AL's product. My nails grew fast. My hair grew fast. However, neither nails nor hair grew stronger or increased volum in the hair. It seems to work like a fertilizer. Didn't notice anything in the skin. I get Biotin now in AL Ceramide caps.

I dont find hair growing faster as a plus, who wants to have to cut and color more often ??? I just want to have more hair on my head and that doesnt happen with any supplement.

Re: Healthy Hair, Skin, Nails: Andrew Lessman

After about 2 or 3 years of using this I had people back in Italy who saw me only in the summer ask me why I don't have wrinkles. Plus my hair is now fuller than when I started taking them about 6 years ago.

My nails are strong but I lost my eyebrows.
