Standardized Turmeric Curcumin Complex 500mg w/ Black pepper 120 capsules for $7.99 + sh from pipingrock dot com. Been buying them for a long time. When they go on sale the price is like 5.99 per bottle.  They also carry the 240 and 480 cap sizes, too...save more when you buy larger quantities.Woman Happy

Re: Good tumeric supplement

[ Edited ]

@ccassaday

I wasn't sure the turmeric I have been taking has helped anything until I forgot it when traveling. This is when I KNEW it helped immensely -- by being without it!

I need to research the brands I am taking tho. One is very inexpensive and even with this, I have seen improvement. However, it may be full of Carrp so I'm going to look into it.

Swanson is the kind I have been taking. It is relatively inexpensive, but I'm starting to read up on the New Chapter brand... for starters it seems there is more transpareny regarding ingredients/manufacturing process. Meaning all of the ingredients, including fillers, are explained.

I've been curious about "bioperine" since this thread came up, and I was a little surprised to read a warning.

With that in mind, I'm going to add some black pepper to my already Turmeric laced hot fall veggie recipes, and see what happens.

There are some supplements that need to be taken in concentrated form, and some that work better as plain ol' food.

The complication appears to be interactions with meds and supplements, and some body chemistries will have problems and others won't.

Every body is different.

@violann

I have spent this morning reading up and Turmeric is one I reading up on.

I want to know exactly what is in my products instead of just believing what is advertised.

It seems that there is more desire for "transparency in labeling" now which is a good thing.

The supplement I just purchased for Turmeric has the black pepper in it, and I think it was too strong.

Will see.

 I find it helps my knees a lot. I used to by Life Extension's Super Bio Curcumin and it was expensive so I switched to the Members Mark brand from Sam's club and getting good results and knees are pain free.

I am returning the expensive supplement (Turmeric). It made my stomach hurt. Swanson is relatively inexpensive so I will stick with it. It works for me.

@LTT1,

I am sorry to hear about your stomach pains. How much were you taking at a time?

I know I'm going to butcher my remarks with spelling errors, but here goes: 500 mg organic curcumin with black pepper "peridine" to help with absorption.

I tried taking two in the morning.

The one I'm sticking with now is 750 mg of Tumeric , not curcumin, which I assume is stronger.
