Re: Going to the Store👎

Im also terrified to shop, getting all groceries delivered.  Gassed up car around March 10th and have not even started the car since.  Please do not venture out until we get the all clear from Dr. Fauci.

Re: Going to the Store👎

@Reever, I know, it's truly frightening being out of our homes these days! Unfortunately I need to go out to pick up meds. for my mother, DH and myself, usually on a weekly basis if I get all the prescription refills (almost 30 of them between the three of us) timed just right. Glad you're able to stay home where it's safe! Isn't this a horrible, horrible way to live now???

My niece is refusing to quit her job and stay home. She thinks Im being foolish and a worrying "downer" as she keeps saying.  I am scared that this is much worse than the Govt is telling us.

Re: Going to the Store👎

I had an anxiety attack recently, but since then, I have been 100% fine.

With that said, I don't worry about going outside.

I don't go in to a panic over everything that I touch, and fear that "What if it's contaminated?"

I am doing my part by staying home , but if I need to go out for something, I will, and I won't be terrified to do so.

Re: Going to the Store👎

@chiclets   I don't know if InstaCart is available in your area, but I highly recommend it.

My shopper was so wonderful! We texted the entire time, she sent me pictures showing me options if something was out that I originally wanted (such as couldn't get ground chuck, but they had some nice looking ground sirloin). She also suggested these wicked little powder dougnuts that were not on my list but a great sale price lol.....saw their picture and couldn't say no. She took me on a tour with her smart phone around the store and showed me all the empty aisles where no paper products were to be seen! No TP, PT, paper plates, bowls, etc. Those things weren't on my list but while we were texting back and forth I told her it wouldn't  hurt my feelings any if she stumbled onto some TP lol.....that's why she ended up showing me the bare shelves.

She was a real sweetheart and worth every penny. I gave her an extra cash tip because of it. I hope I get her again. OH! and she even  looked for a certain type of cat food for me (again wasn't on my original list but thought about it while she was there)......and she found it, the exact flavor I wanted Smiley Happy

She texted me that she was pulling up outside my door, waited at her car for me to set her envelope with the little extra tip down then I went back inside and she set my groceries up by the door. Honked when she was back in her car so I could step out and get them.

Very efficient and safe......and so worth not having the anxiety I went though the last time I went in the grocery store!

Re: Going to the Store👎

When you shop online these days you might have to buy 'substitutions' for the things you have bought in the past. Now is the time to really look around and see if there are more things to try, things you may not have thought of trying before. I thought I never liked blackberries but I tried some the other day and now I'm hooked! LOL!

You do realize that if she quits her job she won't be eligible for unemployment benefits?

@hooked on booksSome Rxs are being filled for more than the 30 days with an approved extension.  Depends on insurer I assume, but this is what I read.   I had to get pet meds today and even though that's a different scenario, since I pay OOP, I did read something about the extension.  Check it out.

Re: Going to the Store👎

I just got back from the supermarket.  It's only a block away.

More people shoppng today than last Sunday.  Store was well-stocked.  I got everything on my list.

It was nice to be able to talk to someone other than myself!   Even though school is out - the crossing guard was on duty - and we had a brief chat as I waited for the light to change.  I know the checkers and other supermarket employees so there was a "Hi, how are you" exchange.
