I went on and got my flu shot a few days ago....I had what I think was a terrible reaction for the first time in my life. I got severe chills a few hours later at bedtime, then woke up in the middle of the night really hot and sweaty but no fever. By morning felt exhausted( no sleep) and by noon felt fine. I got out the stack of paperwork they give you with all the legalese and side effects listed...and it had nothing about side effects on it at all. Amazed. Looked up my chills and sweating and they are common side effects. I was given the high dose four strain flu shot.

@lovesrecess My husband got his shot today at the geriatric center.  The nurse told him to take it easy the next few days.  The center has had many calls this year re: reactions to the senior shot.  Ugh.

I will get mine early Oct.

I have a question and maybe you guys can help me here please...

I live alone and have no family. I get no visitors ever and I don't go anywhere except to pick up my food at curb-side.  In other words, I never get close to anyone or go anywhere where I could. My question is:  If you were in my shoes, would you get the flu shot?

My answer has to be YES, I never got one ever but I was in pharmacy yesterday talking with the pharmacist and she said it is extremely recommended this year due to COVID, I am 68, so I agreed to it, got the senior one.
