@Mom2Dogs

Mix the psyllium powder really well in water and then drink it right away. The longer it sits, the thicker it gets. You're suppose to drink it right away.

@SilleeMee   What I did was mix it in my protein drink, not realizing that it was going to get thick....let's just say I was surprised, I knew there would be no flavor, the surprise was thickeness.

I will try it again, thank you.

@SilleeMee   The product you pictured is it a thickening product?  I purchased that brand at the grocery store and no where did it say thickening -

OMG  1. I was surprised and 2.  it was just awful!  I am trying to lower my cholesterol and read that fiber supplement could help.

thank you

Good grief. I take 2 capsules and the directions say to take each capsule with water, one at a time and follow with a full glass of water to avoid choking! I can't imagine drinking it jelled. One would have to be very careful.

@Judaline ...You only need 2 capsules per day?

What product are you taking, if I may ask.  I looked at capsules but a couple required multiple doses per day.

You need to take 6 capsules a day to have cholesterol-lowering benefits from those.

My husband and I were both told to use Metamucil by different GI docs. over the years.

The one that my husband saw told him that it didn't matter which form of it he used, as long as he used it--powder mixed with water, fiber bars, etc.

We both have IBS and were both told that it would help regulate the colon.

I take Metamucil caps every morning. Just once. I probably should do more but it works for me (most of the timeSmiley Happy
