@GingerPeach

Good news and bad news.  Good news . . . I have an appointment with Dr. Kiriakidou!  Bad news . . . it's not until September 19th!

This did not surprise me.  I talked at length with her admin, "Judy," and she is putting me on a waitlist for any cancellations that come up.  I am being called a "new patient" because they don't have the records that far back when I saw her at U of Pa.  There was very little computerized record-keeping (if any) ten years ago. She also told me to call in every several weeks to check on cancellations.  She was extremely nice and did not seem in a rush to get me off the phone, so we did talk for more than ten minutes during which I told her how much I liked Dr. Kiriakidou and that I am willing to wait to see her again.

I will be seeing my PCP next week and will advise her that I am changing RA docs and the timeframe.  I will also advise my LTC insurance company.

It's a long time to wait, but this is the first time I have some hope that I will be treated by someone who really cares.  Judy told me she hasn't changed, she's still the caring (and best) RA doc she has always been.

I wanted to let you know ASAP, as it was our conversation that led me to this new, hopeful path ahead.

I can't thank you enough for posting that article, although rereading it several times, I think I am too advanced in my RA for this new treatment if it even becomes available during my lifetime.  But that led to this . . .

Also her street address is 211, which is my former apartment number, and my present address is 2111.  Judy suggested I play those numbers in the lottery!!

Have a great day!
