Re: FITNATION contraption

[ Edited ]

@tsavoriteThe one I have is from Medic Therapeutics. They have similar ones on Amazon (Lifepro brand). I would have preferred that there were also vertical and horizontal back-and-forth movement functions included, but those are a lot more expensive. This is just regular, speed-adjustable vibration. They are not cardiovascular workout machines. I use it as an addition to my regular workouts. I use it for about 10 minutes after I finish working out. I do different positions on it, including balance work.

@SeaMaiden

"If you want to lose weight and improve fitness a healthy diet include physical activity in your daily routine".  Who'da thought?

Seems to me like Mayo wasted a lot of money with this study and ended it with Part of last paragraph says it all. Then they end with "can be harmful"!   I love it!

Re: 7Re: FITNATION contraption

My machine says do not use if:

You have a malignant tumor.

You are pregnant.

You have heart disease.

You have osteoporosis.

You have a pacemaker or other electronic medical device.

You use a prosthetic.

Yes, use of the machine could be harmful then.

As I posted on the Community Chat thread about these devices"

"Vibration can have adverse effects on a number of physiologic systems. This work indicates that readily accessible WBV devices markedly exceed ISO guidelines for safety, and extreme caution must be practiced when considering their use."

I'm loving it! I'm 4'10" 115# and 67 years old. And no I didn't purchase to shake the fat off (very rude) I bicycle and run the trails. I used to be a gym devotee and always used, as doctor recommended to me, there. Since COVID I'm relying more on home gym equipment and outdoor pursuits. I won't go into the benefits, easy to research. But it's a solid addition to health.
