Re: ESTRADIOL CREME SIDE EFFECTS

[ Edited ]

@pdlinda

I don't know what I would do without Estradiol cream! I have no weight gain and no side effects.

 My autoimmune  issue is Lichen, which causes thickening of tissue and discomfort in the genital area.

I insert estradiol cream intravaginally 2X/week...I purchase disposable vag cream applicators and fill them up to the 2mark...2 g (?) estradiol cream per application.

These types of creams are known to help skin retain moisture.

@LTT1 I assume you get the disposable applicators from Amazon? Can you screenshot the exact ones you get? I hate cleaning the applicator!

Re: ESTRADIOL CREME SIDE EFFECTS

@pdlinda

My OBGYN was very confident in RXing this for me.

The pharmacist came to the window to discuss my usage with me personally. She was a more mature lady in age and she seemed quite concerned!
She wanted to know if I was using more than the prescribed amount? And she acted as if she didn't believe me that I wasn't !

I tried everything to convince her ...and finally I just gave up!
My rx's are regularly requested and filled!
What I didn't tell her was this funny thing that happened ...twice...lol

I PUT THE ESTROGEN CREAM IN THE WRONG END OF THE APPLICATOR!

ok laff...go on...you can imagine all sorts of funny scenarios about this...and you would be CORRECT!

So, there went two doses in 3 years...hardly overdosing!

have you ever heard of "pelvic floor specialists?"

@GingerHead

I have Lichen (mine is Lichen planus but the effects and treatment as the same as Lichen sclerosis). I can honestly say that the estradiol cream put me into "remission"...and cured the tissue issue!

Re: ESTRADIOL CREME SIDE EFFECTS

@LTT1 thank you so much!  I ordered the 15 pack to see how I would like them.  If I do, I will go on Subscribe and Save for the 120 pack.  That would cost less than $4 a month, and yes, I would pay that to not have to deal with cleaning the applicator!

Re: ESTRADIOL CREME SIDE EFFECTS

Are you ladies using Estradiol from a compounding pharmacy?  Is it synthetic or bioidentical?

I used bioidentical estriol because it is the safest form of estrogen.  It did nothing for my VA.  It also caused severe picking/pricking in my breasts.

When I was younger, I used progesterone and estriol, again, both bioidentical.  It really never helped any of my issues.  I had breakthrough heavy bleeding and decided at that point it wasn't for me.

Re: ESTRADIOL CREME SIDE EFFECTS

@tends2dogs  The prescription doc gave me was synthetic; however, I would have gotten the compounded version if i decided to go that route.  Your description of symptoms was what I am trying to avoid.  My situation is "manageable" at this point so if I can find a substitute for estrogen, I'd like to try that first.  Thanks so much!
