I have to sit a lot due to other health problems but I have been having a lot of problems with my feet and legs. I went to see a vascular specialist and was told to get 20-30 MM compression socks. I purchased A298213 from QVC. My legs don't swell when I wear them but they still ache some. My ankles don't swell however when I wear them, when I went to the vascular specialist I had a very large spot, the size of a lemon on my left calf. It is yellow. When I take the socks off it is blood red. I am on a blood thinner as I had a blood clot in both legs which both have disolved at this time. The specialist also told me to walk even if it was inside but I am on oxygen and it is rather hard to do a lot of walking.
I have another question. In the winter do you wear socks over your compression socks to keep your feet warm?
Thanking you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

I wear the mildest compression when I fly.

You really should go back to that specialist and have him examine you and get him to address your concerns. The compression socks sold here are NOT medical grade and that's quite obviously what you need. Like it or not, you have to see a physician. Ladies who buy handbags and make up can't help you with this.

@Stardust2 I'm curious what the MD said about the spot on your leg. No, I don't wear compression socks unless flying. I'm hoping you are getting exercise....it would be really great if you had a rebounder or a teeter they really improve circulation. I'm sure you are keeping your feet elevated at every opportunity. You might want to experiment with the sock situation to see what feels comfortable to you.
Sounds like you need some answers from your doc. I hope you feel better soon!

I wore them when I travelled by plane and if I am going long distance by car. I think I bought mine at walgreens. I agree with those that you need a doctor to evaluate your situation.

I wear the Tommy Copper compression socks in the cold weather, I should wear them all year round.

@Stardust2 I wear compression stockings all day everyday. I take them off when I go to bed. They just feel good on. I have vein issues in my legs and I think these help.
Maybe when you are are in the chair sitting inside you could just pump you legs while sitting....that would be at least moving. Maybe think about getting a cycle that you put infront of the chair and you just peddle. QVC sells such a portable cycles.
Yes, I will wear socks with the colder weather over the compression hose.

The only time my feet swell is when I fly. My doctor says its due to the poor air quality in airliners. They will still be swollen several days after the flight and are very painful, so I always wear compression hose.

I occasionally wear compression socks. The last couple pairs I bought were from Amazon. They had a good selection. I don't wear other socks over them.
