I tried tumeric for the arthritis in my hands and feet, but it didn't do a thing for inflammation. I take MSM twice a day and rub my hands and feet with Joint Flex at night which works for me. If I could stay away from the nighshade veggies that would help tremendously.

@luv-the-Q wrote:Yes, I drink Golden Milk everyday. You make a paste with the turmeric and add it to milk. I don't drink dairy so I use coconut milk. There are very good recipes and instructions online. It has helped my arthritis, but you have to consume it consistently or you won't get the beneficial effects.
I've never heard of Golden Milk before, thanks!

@qvcgal2I cannot speak to Tumeric, getting great suggestions on this thread! I take my HA in capsule form. I have used this for about 3 years and it has been amazing for me. It is called "nature's moisturizer" so it's great for skin as well as your joints!

When possible, I buy organic turmeric root, ( it looks like ginger), slice/dehydrate it and grind it myself. Otherwise I buy ground turmeic from Penzey's.I mix it with black pepper to aid absorbtion. Turmeric will stain! I use so much of it in my smoothies, that I drink them with a straw, so I don't stain my teeth. I've never used the capsules.

Is fresh turmeric root a regional thing?
I don't think I've ever seen it fresh..here in DFW.
I saw this pic on Google (2013 Food Babe photo).
Is it pre-packaged (like this) or in a pile like ginger?

I've only seen the whole root at an organic co-op here in Western PA.. It's piled loose right next to the ginger root. I don't remember how much it cost but it wasn't $15/lb.
Turmeric root is 'heavenly', but once cut, it will stain anytihng it touches. I spilled one of my smoothies on the carpet-it is a gorgeous golden stain!

Thank you all for all this great info in response to my request! I tried making Golden Milk yesterday and again this morning, thank you @luv-the-Q it was delish!
Ordered some products on-line at Vitacost and we will see how that goes! I knew I could count on all of you to provide some real life experience!
To anyone who tries HA, I hope it brings you the relief it brought me and with the addition of Tumeric in my diet I am hoping to see great results!
Thank you again!
