Yes, I am guilty of not counting either.

Which chemicals do they want us to count? Surely not all of them. It's just a meme written by someone who doesn't understand science.

I'm already counting way too many things that I'm convinced I need to count.

I have yet to see a need to count chemicals.  In fact, I think one of the reasons our life spans have increased so much in the last century is that we DO have science and chemicals working for us.

I don't fear those chemicals the way some do although I would make life changes if someone could actually show me how that would improve my existence.

If you count portions of organic green leafy veggies, healthy portions of fat and proteins, and "rainbow" veggies and fruits in the balance, you don't have to think about negative counting.

I don't count calories. The surest way for me to gain weight is to overly focus on "not eating" something. Instead, I have figured out what I can eat that makes me feel good...and what I eat that makes me feel yucky.

I can't necessarily say that I "count" chemicals either, but I do make a point of finding out what each chemical is, what is does and how it reacts in the body. I'm more about the knowledge than counting stuff...

@lolakimono

Good post.

Could be interpreted a couple different ways:

- One could be slender but still unhealthy.

or

- Packaged foods will never be considered healthy.

@SeaMaiden

I know what you mean!

When I was in WW a zillion yrs ago, I would waste good points

for such icky food.  I got skinny (calorie restriction), but we all know

that doesn't last!  Maybe if I should've counted chemicals

instead of WW points!

Is this a "trick" question?
