I recently had one kidney removed (Apr.) because of a cancerous growth on top of the kidney that would have eventually grown into the kidney. I was very fortunate that it was diagnosed early so I have not needed chemo or radiation. I do have a problem with swelling in both feet. Prior to the kidney removal my doctor prescribed Furosemide to help with the swelling. Now that I have one kidney he does not want me to continue to take it on a daily basis. Has anyone had any experiences with dandelion root as a diuretic? I don't want to jeopardize my remaining kidney by taking it if I should not. The friend that suggested it thought it would not stress the kidney the same as the Furosemide would but would provide help with the swelling. Thanks.
