Most doctors couldn't care less about the supps you take. What they are interested in is your clinical signs, symptoms and blood test results. If those look abnormal then they give you Rx drugs š.

Yes, it's their way to reel you in and keep you coming back...

@I am still oxox "My health nut of a husband..." that tickled me!

@CelticCrafter I hope you have more respect for the ethics of your personal physicians than that. If not, you should consider changing to new health care providers. I have never seen a physician whose ethics I did not totally respect and trust in both my professional and personal life. I cannot imagine thinking that they were "reeling me in."

I will always talk to my doctor, or her nurse practioner about anything in the way of supplements. I can ask questions from MyChart if I don't see them. There is no charge for that, and they get back to me pretty quickly. I share what I know, and they share what they know. There is so much misinformation out there including here on these forums. You are always your own best advocate.

We all have when blood is taken including kidney function be it once or twice a year.
It is in your report called 'EGFR". It is there. All kidney function
lowers as we age depending the stage and number.

@Icegoddess Could your comment be any meaner, I resisted answering but the mods did not see fit to pull your comment

@SandGirl I do not think I have ever had my kidney numbers tested
That's usually part of the standard blood draw that your doctor orders. I would be shocked if you've never had your kidney numbers checked.
Yes it's part of routine blood work. It doesn't say "kidney" but is called something else which I can't remember right now.

@I am still oxox it's a valid question. If someone sits and stares at the TV or scrolls through social media all day, are they really exercising their brain? Are we exercising our brains when we're sleeping? Does dreaming count? Does solving a problem exercise our brain more than just going through the motions of daily life, and does a harder problem exercise our brains more and thus use more creatine than an easy problem?
However, yes, it was also a joke, but I was responding to Silleeme.
