Colonoscopy and Joint Replacements

I am four years out from a TKR and shoulder replacement and take antibiotics before any dental cleaning or dental work. I was told to do this for life, as well as for any invasive procedure such as a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy PA did not feel this precaution was necessary. The orthopedic surgeon is calling in an RX for me but I didn't speak to him directly. Anyone with replacements not take antibiotics as a precaution before an invasive procedure. I do have the added risk of diabetes.
