haircut after chemo?

I posted this on beauty banter so let me try here.

It's now 8 months since chemo and my hair is growing back. The back and most of the sides are normal thickness but the top is still sparse and thin. Doc says it's the meds I'll take for 5 years. My hair is very thin and straight. Usually I look like Einstein or the professor. Now my question. Would a pixie cut look okay if the sides and top are still too sparse to cut?
