@Mindy D Yeah, believe me, I did not want to take it to UPS, was happy they would come pick it up but on the 2nd one, I wanted to ensure it got there on time cause even though it was my bodily function, it still grossed me out. LOL!!

I used a Cologuard test some years ago, and it was positive.  It scared me to death until I was able to get a Colonoscopy.  The Gastrointerologist found no polyps but just to be safe had me get another test where I had to drink horrible barium.  I could barely drink it.  That test was negative, too.

The Gastrointerologist said his practice would never trust a Cologuard test.  I just had a colonoscopy because of some health issues I've been having.  The prep was pretty painless this time.

Cologuard did detect an abnormality with my coworker, so he ended up with a colonoscopy after all and a large polyp was found. I think in the future he is not considrered a good candidate for Cologuard.

Need to chime in here!  My colon cancer was not a polyp or a growth...it was inside the colon wall and could never have been detected by either the Cologaurd or blood test per my oncologist!

@Zhills   Was it detected by a colonoscopy?  I wasn't positive that was what you meant.

Yes, the cancer was detected in a Colonoscopy.

It was a prep for a different surgery!

Through the colonoscopy- visual inspection of the colon.

@shoesnbags   The prep was Miralax mixed with Propel water (electrolytes in flavored water) and two Dulcolax tablets.  The instructions actually called for Gatorade, but I have a hard time drinking Gatorade and called the Gastrointerologist's nurse to ask if there was something I could drink instad.

She said that Gatorade had electrolytes and that was what was important.  She suggested Propel water.  I bought several different flavors, and it is so good!  I could drink it all the time.  Miralax is tasteless, so that was fine, too.  I also had to drink 8 glasses of water before starting the prep.

The preps that I had used in the past had all been prescriptions, and I'd had to drink Gatorade, too.  I had a hard time with them.

@Zhills

Why not?   I think everyone here who takes this seriously would like to know why it wouldn't have detected your colon cancer.   Why did your oncologist think that?
