It is personal preference. Some people don't like to take in animal byproducts. Some people are vegan. That's all. Bones are bones.....and it all comes from some kind of bone. If you don't have a membership at Costco I believe you can still buy on their website for a surcharge. Vital Proteins is also sold on Amazon.

@JeanLouiseFinch : Yes. No Costco in my area. Just placed order for the Vital Collagen and price better than Amazon and other places. Southern Bee

I am on month 3 of Andrew Lessman's Marine Collagen Peptides powder. I put one scoop in coffee once a day. The difference I have noticed is my general allover skin, body and face, is softer. Regarding sourcing, I chose this over others (including his other choice) as I prefer fish over poultry/meat bone sourcing. Quite frankly, the processing of chickens in the USA is one of the most horrific, dirty and shameful businesses so I wouldn't assume USA means better in food or supplements. I used to live in VA and toured a famous "P" chicken processing plant, and the horrors I saw have never left me.

@Pook I agree - been doing Lessman's collagen powder for 3-4 yrs now. I won't stop using this, I like it and see and feel results esp'ly in hair and nails. When I need more I shop around between hsn, lessman's site directly and amazon. Whoever is at the time offering the best buy, that's who I go with.

@Shelbelle wrote:Lessman primary ingredient is tilapia, that is a farm raised fish, that says it all, I dont care where it is sourced, it is not a product that I would consider healthy to consume. Shame on him, he certainly knows better. His products are a lot of hype, and not always as they appear.
I know noting at all about Lessman.
But agree with you about farm raised fish.

I am not at all sure they do work, from what i have read there is no evidence for sure they do.

I can't help but think the water or juice being used as a carrier
for these supplements is reason so many see benefits.
Too many people are dehydrated...and just drinking a glass of water
in the morning, the body is going 'Ahhhhh, thank you'.
Now bump up that intake to 3-4 liters a day..and see the benefits.
Hair/skin look better, joints are more flexible...all without supplementing.

DH and I use Great Lakes, green can, hydrolyzed. I order direct from them. They ship fast! I've used it for around 6 years, hubby started using it around 6 or 8 months ago. Makes your hair and nails grow good.
I also get one in the orange can (gelatin) and mix it with the other one for my tummy problems. DH just uses the hydrolyzed. We put it in our morning coffee. DH beard is really beginning to grow and the bare spots are filling in.
